Rich's build brought life to this Z
Engine
At the heart of Rich’s 240Z sits a 7.0L stroker LS engine paired with a Redux Racing individual throttle body setup, creating an engine bay that blends modern performance with vintage race inspiration. The motor features Frankenstein ED CNC 11-degree heads, a SCAT forged rotating assembly with Race-Tech pistons, and an Isky 244/251 cam, all controlled by a Holley Terminator X Max standalone ECU. Supporting components like GM Cadillac race lifters, a Melling high-volume oil pump, and a Vibrant oil cooler ensure the powerplant performs just as reliably as it looks.
Transmission & Driveline
Power is sent through a CD009 six-speed transmission using a Collins swap kit, paired with an ACT clutch and lightened flywheel. A custom driveshaft delivers power to a Q45 differential, upgraded with polyurethane bushings and supporting components designed to handle the demands of the stroker LS.
Wheels & Stance
The car sits on 18x11.5 SSR Formula Aeromesh wheels wrapped in 315 Falken RT660 tires in a square setup. The aggressive fitment combined with the widebody body lines gives the car a purposeful motorsport stance.
Suspension & Brakes
To match the power, the chassis was fully upgraded using the Arizona Z Car Track Pack kit, transforming the classic Z into a modern performance machine. Billet control arms, adjustable coilovers, upgraded steering components, and reinforced suspension geometry keep the car planted. Wilwood six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes with vented rotors provide serious stopping power.
Exterior
Finished in Destroyer Grey, the car features the iconic Ztrix 280YZ widebody kit, dramatically widening the classic silhouette. Carbon fiber components from VintageCarbon including the spoiler, louvers, and body accents add both performance styling and lightweight materials. An APR carbon splitter and mirrors, along with a custom rear diffuser, complete the aggressive exterior presence.
Built Beyond Warranty
This isn’t a build chasing trends.
It represents commitment — the kind that voids warranties without hesitation.
