Car: Scion FRS
@zenki_9l
For Rob, building cars isn’t a phase. It’s a lifetime of creation, evolution, and returning to roots. His Scion FRS isn’t just another build; it’s a tribute to where it all started — his very first car, the 1986 AE86 Toyota Corolla Trueno. What began decades ago in a small garage has turned into a lifelong passion for craftsmanship, precision, and individuality. Every car he’s owned since tells part of that story, leading up to this FRS — a modern-day nod to his origin story.
Exterior
This FRS wears a complete Pandem V3 widebody kit with the V3.5 race aero upgrade and V2 diffuser, all tied together by the signature V3 duckbill spoiler. The body’s presence is bold but refined, wrapped in a TRD Pro gradient custom vinyl that shifts tone and texture in the light. Valenti Japan Jewel headlights paired with a BlueGhozt RGB module add a sharp modern edge, while details like the TRD carbon fender aero, VIS Racing AMS carbon hood, and VLand tail lights complete the aesthetic. Every angle of this car speaks balance — aggressive but tasteful.
Interior
Inside, it’s a blend of comfort and competition. Bride Euroster II seats anchor the cockpit, surrounded by custom carbon door cards and Alcantara TRD-stitched details throughout the dash, shift boot, and cluster cowl. The Momo Ultra Suede steering wheel, Cusco shift and handbrake knobs, and Works Bell quick release bring in that true JDM driver’s feel. A custom dual-compressor hard-line air setup with RGB lighting adds both style and function, lighting up the interior with personality. Every inch of this cabin feels like a mix between a track car and a showpiece — all done with purpose.
Wheels and Suspension
The stance is defined by WORK Meister L1 3-piece wheels, custom powdercoated and wrapped in Falken RT660s. An Airlift Performance 3P system gives him total control of ride height, while Cusco chassis bracing and rear strut tower bars tighten everything underneath. Whether aired out at a meet or cornering hard on a backroad, the setup is engineered to perform and impress.
Performance
Under the hood, the car carries real strength. The HKS pistons, rods, and head gasket lay a solid foundation, while breathing upgrades like an AFe intake, HKS header, Apexi over pipe, and Juiced Pipes J-pipe exhaust keep things flowing right. Power delivery is handled by an ACT Stage 2 clutch and Street Lite flywheel, with fuel and tuning dialed in for E85 on a Stage 2 ECU tune. Every part fits with intention — no shortcuts, no fillers, just reliability and precision.
Legacy
Rob’s path through cars reads like chapters in a personal history book — the 1994 Civic EG, the 2003 Si hatch with a K20A and Jackson Racing supercharger, the 2005 twin-turbo 350Z drift car, and even a 2010 VW Golf daily. Each one taught him something different about balance, style, and function. The FRS isn’t just the latest build, it’s the culmination of everything he’s learned over almost three decades behind a wrench.
Built Beyond Warranty
Rob’s story captures what VOIDED stands for — time, effort, and passion that no manufacturer warranty could ever cover. The FRS pays tribute to his beginnings but proves how far he’s come. Every custom panel, every forged part, every late night in the garage reflects years of experience and dedication to the craft. It’s not just a car. It’s proof that the love for building never fades, it just evolves. This FRS stands as a symbol of legacy, precision, and individuality — built beyond limits, built beyond warranty.
